For the first update for the trap section of this blog I felt it appropriate to dedicate the post to one of the pioneers of the genre. I wasn't the biggest fan of Jeezy's last album, but this song brings him back to his roots. Now bump this in your $4000 Thom Browne suits...

Trap Update: Young Jeezy - "Get Right"

Fall Trend Alert: Tweed
Tweed. The grandpa fabric. The "menswear" staple. Over the years tweed has been worn strictly by older men, and only on blazers and the occasional pair of pants. This season tweed is making the transition into high fashion in a BIG way. It's making is way onto bomber jackets, varsity jackets, and even caps. This isn't the tweed you are familiar with, however. This tweed is colorful, with either flecks of blue red and yellow, or even pink and green tweed. Picking up at least one tweed piece is essential this season, and here are some of my personal favorites.

Fall Essentials: The Sweatshirt
Hello all! Sorry I have been out of commission recently, I am practicing for the PSAT which I'm taking next Wednesday so things have been hectic. I wanted to at least get one post through to you guys for now, and I promise I will post more after the test. Today I want to focus on a piece that is so often called a "classic" that people have come to think of it as boring. The grey crewneck sweatshirt has been around since the beginning of modern time, but recently it hasn't been seeing as much wear as it should be. Celebrities are looking toward "out-there" pieces from Givenchy or Balmain, and classic pieces have been lost amidst the bustle. There is nothing wrong with that, I myself love certain garments from both brands, and statement pieces are absolutely necessary, but a little goes a long way, and this season is the time to go back to the classics. Here are a few simple grey crewneck sweatshirts for you to break out fairly often in the coming months. You can either dress them down with a pair of sweats or jeans and high tops, or you can wear them under a blazer or even a bomber for a sportier look. Clockwise from top: Maison Kitsune, Acne, Maison Martin Margiela. All are available on Mr. Porter and Barney's.

Your Grandpa's Favorite Trend: Elbow Patches
When wearing these crewnecks, make sure you pair them with either a pair of raw denim or mustard colored chinos and some low tops. I suggest A.P.C. for the bottoms and either Lanvin or Common Projects for the low tops, or you could even go classic and wear some cream colored Chuck Taylors.
Here are some of my personal favorite sweaters/sweatshirts with the elbow patch trend:
M/M/M:
I especially love this piece because of the ill burgundy color, and the elbow patches are simply a plus. This model wears it well, this color of chino is good, and you can even go lighter. Purchase here:
Norse Projects:
This sweater is incredible. The military green color on its own is great but when you look closely you see this:
The tweed-like specks of color blow me away. I absolutely love this use of detailing. Purchase here:
A.P.C.:
This is a modern take on an absolute classic. Every man (and woman for that matter) should own a black pullover, and APC puts a perfect contemporary twist on that classic garment. Purchase here:
